Breidablick Cottage and the Studio can be used in two ways by guests. The first way is to use each building as a stand-alone facility for seperate couples. The second alternative, dubbed: "The whole farm option”, is for two or more couples to share the facilities of Breidablick, the Studio and the Castle--a stand-alone bedroom. The advantage of the second option is that everybody has a private space while ample public gathering space is available. Also guests have exclusive use of the farm’s recources.
The 1,100 square foot Breidablick Cottage has a large living room, an ample kitchen, a patio and a bedroom on the second floor. It also has two bathrooms. The building can accommodate a couple or a family of four in the winter and two couples or a family of four in the summer (see below). Kitchen equipment includes a dishwasher, modern stove, and a complete compliment of flatware and cooking utensils for six.
The building is also equipped with a liquid crystal television with DVD player, a contemporary stereo/CD player (bring your CDs and DVDs), and wireless broadband internet access. A modern wood stove allows winter guest to choose between the deep heat of wood or the convenience of a propane heater. Also included in a small library are numerous books and maps.
There are two queen size beds in the Cottage, one in the bedroom, and the other--a futon--in the living room. A nearby building, the Castle provides guests with a second bedroom for spring, summer and fall use.
Ideal for two persons, the 600 Square foot Studio combines living room space with an eating area and a kitchen. The bed room, equipped with a queen sized bed, is a separate room. The bathroom has a shower or tub option. Kitchen equipment includes: a dishwasher, a complete compliment of flatware for four and a complete set of cooking utensils. Extensive trim detail and wainscoting throughout.
The building is also equipped with a Sharp flat screen television / DVD player, a contemporary stereo/CD player (bring your CDs and DVDs) and wireless broadband internet access. Heat is provided by a modern Jotul propane fireplace vented heater. Also included are numerous books and maps in a small library.
Groups of four or six people who rent Breidablick and the Studio, in effect, rent the entire farm. Two or four visitors can stay in Breidablick, or they can, in the summer, use the Castle (see below) and a second couple can stay in the Studio. The advantage of this option is that everybody has a private space while ample public space is also available. The stone patio in front of Breidablick is an ideal spot for summer meals and gatherings, and the building’s easy access and large, well equipped kitchen further assist group events.
The Castle (so-named tongue-in-cheek!) provides guests with the privacy of an additional bedroom while being close enough to Breidablick to insure guest the convenience of a stand alone bathroom and other amenities. The whole farm option includes in the summer: three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two kitchens, a patio and two living rooms. And all the appurtenances of a 160 acre farm and the 20,000 acre Camel’s Hump State Park.
